Parental Involvement
Gorefield Primary Academy values the views of parents and carers to help make improvements. We also try, where possible, to invite parents into school on a regular basis to ensure continuity between home and school.
We value parental involvement in your child’s learning. Please ask if you require further advice and support. We hold various information meetings, assemblies and provide individual consultation appointments to discuss your child's progress. During these consultations, your child’s individual targets for improvement will be discussed. Class teachers welcome parental consultation at other times (it is advisable to check that a particular time would be convenient by requesting an appointment at the school office).
Throughout the year, we hold various curriculum workshops where parents are invited in to see how the teaching and learning of various topics is covered in school and, therefore, can support their child at home. We also have open sessions, so parents can see what the school is like in action on a day-to-day basis.
We greatly appreciate the involvement and support of the local community.
We regularly hold fundraising events to raise money for equipment, educational materials and special activities. These events also provide social activities for the children.
